It should be made clear to the residents of GB that as with the rest of the world, they are suffering from the impacts of climate change. The impact is more pronounced and severe in border or remote areas of any population, in this case, the core populations of Pakistan.

This is not a political issue as such and no minister can give you water and wheat if none is coming forth from nature— at least, not on short term notice.

This requires actual works and projects such as population movement and reorganisation, water management, restructuring of paths and fields, changing architectural practices, and changing cattle management and farming practices, as well as eating habits in adjustment with the availability of crops.

It seems that the GB area is an area of interest to many NGOs and independent researchers in this regard, and environmental issues are generally well-known to the people, but a comprehensive picture and policy does but exist. It is also observed that as with most people in the world and in Pakistan, the people still see thus as an issue of delivery of short-term relief on the administration’s part, but they do not realise that the problem is much, much huger and has to be solved by the entire world. The way to do it is however to work locally as a team. It should be known that the issue is environmental. Then concrete actions such as reforestation and diet shifts and nutrition planning can be taken .

Otherwise, as with the rest of the planet, we are moving towards sure poverty and death.
